Ice skating may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Bangkok, but there are number of excellent ice rinks around. Kids and adults will both enjoy skating here. Be sure to dress warmly for the occasion!
The large Ice Planet skating rink is located at the Siam Discovery Center. This mall has a great array of stores, but when you are done shopping you can head up to the rink. It is located on the 6th and 7th floors. You can even take lessons in figuring skating or hockey at an on-site school. You can rent skates for a session of an hour and a half of skating time. Ice Planet is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Imperial World Ice Skating features a very large rink and all the extras you will need to feel safe and have fun. There is first aid nearby and you can practice your skating in a special training area. You can also opt to take lessons from an experienced instructor. Visit the rink from 10 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. or from 3:10 to 8 p.m. Imperial World is located on Sukhumvit Road.
Simply named “The Rink”, this venue is located on the ground floor of CentralWorld, a major Bangkok shopping mall. It is unique among the city’s rink in occupying this open site. Once you’re done skating, you can certainly spend some time in the many stores throughout the complex. The Rink is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Head to the Imperial Lad Prao to skate at Open Ice Skate. From 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., you can skate on this small rink for 100 baht (all day; 120 baht for all-day on weekends). You can also hire a coach to give you a lesson or two on skating.
