Khao Takiab offers a diverse group of restaurants—and the list is growing.
As local tourism in Khao Takiab increases, so do the number of eateries, thanks to new resorts opening up and local restaurateurs moving in. Unlike Hua Hin, there are few opportunities to score street food. But there are plenty of restaurants in all price ranges.
Here are 7 Khao Takiab eateries that will not disappoint:
Kum Koon is popular with the locals—and that’s usually a good sign. The freshly-caught seafood and traditional Thai dishes are not too costly and the atmosphere is friendly.
Well known in town, La Mer sits atop the mountain, just down from the temple, offering a world-class menu and a view to match. Fresh seafood is sold by weight. This too is a restaurant that draws the locals to eat.
Di Mare is the in-house restaurant at The Rock Resort and Spa, but the Thai, Italian and international dishes are not unusually expensive. Guests can sit in the air-conditioned dining area, or on a terrace overlooking the water.
Baan Talay Dao, which is part of a small resort, is oceanfront and lit by candles, offering traditional Thai dishes in an idyllic setting.
Located on the beach in the Wora Bura Hotel, The Rak Talay offers Thai seafood dishes, as well as international favorites like steaks and homemade pasta.
The Lost Café offers a diverse menu on the beach, with a friendly staff. And hey—it made it into the Global Hangover Guide!
The Cicada Market is an artsy complex dedicated to exhibition, dining and shopping—and a great alternative for those looking for something different. The menu offers a wide selection and the staff is friendly.
