With the ocean literally at your feet, there is no shortage of fresh seafood and authentic Thai dishes to be had in Pranburi. And you don’t have to go far.
Pranburi’s dining scene largely revolves around the resorts, though there are some independent restaurants on the beach. In truth, it is tough to get a bad meal. But here are seven great eateries to try when you are in Pranburi.
Aleenta
Alteena’s menu doesn’t just offer organic ingredients—they are actually grown on-site, in the resort’s nursery. Simple, delicious dishes are Aleenta’s signature, such as seared scallops with ground ginger and lime. The degustation menu will pair many of these delicacies with a vintage wine.
Anchana Kitchen
Anchana Kitchen offers fresh seafood dishes, with the emphasis on fresh. Everything is made from the day’s catch. The chef’s here are world-class, and many have cooked at resorts worldwide. The menu offers traditional Thai food with some international staples.
Away Pranburi
Away Pranburi is small. Part of the Away Pranburi Resort, which has just four villas, the restaurant is housed in a 55-year-old teak house, for a cozy experience. Traditional Thai food is on the menu.
Located on the beach, with plenty of surrounding greenery, Palm Tree serves freshly caught lobster, Thai curries and other local delicacies.
Not connected to a resort, Baan Thai offers an ocean view, traditional Thai food that won’t break the bank and a friendly staff.
Set amid gardens a lily ponds at the Six Senses Hideaway Resort, The Living Room offers western fare with a new menu prepared daily. The wine selection may be the best in Pranburi. There’s also a breakfast bar and a walk-in deli.
4K, pronounced “fork,” of course, gives diners a fusion menu in an extremely minimalist setting.
Part of the Villa Maroc Resort, Casablanca offers North African cuisine, featuring local produce, in a garden setting. After dinner, you can visit the shisha bar.
