Kai Bae Beach may lack the white sands that draws travelers to other beaches, but its peaceful, shady palm trees—and its proximity to main roads—make it a strong alternative for those who want beach options.
A bevy of resorts and hotels along the beach ensure that beach essentials are available: towels, bathrooms, chairs and hammocks. There are also some nice-to-haves: footballs, volleyballs and Frisbees. Some charge a small fee for amenities.
When you get hungry, the best bet is one of the many restaurants along the main road. Alternately, there are food stalls and roadside eateries, which can provide a cheaper option. Yet another idea is to buy supplies at one of the many nearby grocers and eat on the beach. Kai Bae is a great place for a picnic.
