After days at the waterfall and on the beach, meals in Klong Prao will not disappoint. Like other local venues, seafood is the main event here. It’s fresh and delicious.
During the day, the stalls near the Klong Plu Waterfall offer “made to order” (tam sang) dishes. Typical options are Thai papaya salad, sticky rice and roasted chicken.
But more substantial meals—including Indian and western cuisine—are also available in the area surrounding the beach. Most major hotels have a restaurant attached, offering indoor and outdoor dining (often poolside). One local restaurant, Kati Culinary, even offers cooking classes.
Here are three restaurants that should make your list:
From tiger prawns to grilled lobster, Sea Breeze is one place to take advantage of that local seafood. It is located in the Koh Chang Tropicana Hotel.
Located near the waterfall, Orni Kai Moon specializes in northeastern (Isan) cuisine, including an extraordinary rotisserie chicken and a large selection of spicy Thai salads.
For authentic Indian cuisine—including staples like tandoori chicken and chicken tikka—The Taj fills the bill. It is located on the northern portion of Klong Prao Beach, on the road into Chai Chet.
