Kamala Beach has more than its fair share of great restaurants. Most are quite casual and laid-back with fairly simple styles, although there are a fewer locales suitable for a fancier evening out. There are many Thai restaurants, of course, but you’ll also find Indian, Italian, German, French, and more. Here are a few of the many good places to eat in Kamala Beach:
Baan Rim Klong serves Thai and Indian food as well as some western option. It is popular with local expats as well as visitors, and has a sort of local-joint feel. The restaurant offers special buffet roasts on Sundays and you can join other patrons for a quiz game on Thursday nights at about 8 p.m.
The Blue Manao serves global and Thai cuisine. The prices are very reasonable and it has a simple, clean style that’s great for all diners, including families. It’s located not far from Kamala Beach, on the road running along it. They serve Thai and western food as well as seafood.
This Thai restaurant is notable because it offers delivery service. The restaurant itself serves good food — breakfast, lunch, and dinner — here at affordable prices and families are welcome. It is located on the main road of Kamala.
The Diavolo Restaurant at the Paresa Resort is one of the more expensive restaurants in the area. It offers beautiful views of the ocean and excellent food and drinks amidst these lovely surroundings.
Duck Spicy serves authentic Thai dishes for good, affordable prices. They are open for both lunch and dinner, but seating is limited so you may want to arrive early. There’s good variety on the menu and you may find some Thai cuisine that you won’t spot elsewhere.
Silk is a western and Thai restaurant that is a little pricier but also very nicely appointed. It is located at the Andara Resort and is a good place to eat if you are looking for a special night out. Thai food is its main focus and their dishes are of high quality. It is open from noon to 11 p.m.
The Manubai Restaurant Lounge-Bar offers a very stylish setting for your meal. It’s in a can’t-miss colonial brick building on Soi Rim Hat. Manubai serves excellent Thai and French food for reasonable prices with good service. It is open every day but Sunday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
