The house band is great and you can even go up, grab an instrument, and join them if you’re so inclined; the owner is the lead singer. The Rockin’ Angels Blues Café makes for a fun night out with friends but is also a good chance to just hang out on your own or meet new people. It is open Tuesday through Sunday from 5:30 to 1 a.m. The music starts at 9, and you will find the café in Old Town Phuket on Yaowarat Road.
The Timber Hut is a good bar and restaurant to check out if you would like to see some local residents out on the town. Especially popular with the younger crowd in Phuket Town, it serves Thai and global cuisines along with good, fairly-priced drinks. Live musical performances add to the fun. The Timber Hut is open from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. and is located on Yaowarat Road.
The nightlife of Siam Niramit includes impressive shows and a floating market. Located just off the Bypass Road, the main attraction is a huge theater where visitors can enjoy a nightly cultural show that exhibits Thai mythology and history through interesting and very large performances. Before the show, you can view the market or see an exhibit about village life in Thailand. Visitors can also watch small cultural performances or even feed an elephant. Siam Niramit Phuket opens at 5:30, though the theater itself does not open until 8 p.m. The show starts at 8:30. The complex is not open on Tuesday, but the show otherwise plays once nightly.
Sanaeha has excellent live music, especially their resident jazz singer. Patrons can enjoy listening to the performers as they dine on Thai food or sip a good drink. The atmosphere at Sanaeha is laid-back yet it attracts many people and can get quite crowded. Sanaeha is located on Yaowarat Road at is open Tuesday through Saturday from 6 p.m. until midnight.
Ka Jok See Restaurant and Bar is one of the favorite nightlife dining venues in Phuket Town. Located in an old shop-house that is beautifully decorated, this restaurant is both stylish and fun. As the night gets later, the dancing and fun party games begin. This is thanks to the owner, who loves to start conga lines and other diversions. By serving Thai food along with entertainment, Ka Jok See Restaurant attracts crowds and it is necessary to make reservations ahead of time if you want to check it out. It is open Tuesday through Saturday from 6:30 onwards and is located on Takua Pa Road. There is no sign out front, but don’t be deterred.
This is a fun cabaret show that features beautiful ladyboys in great costumes. As in most performance venues of this type, at Aprhodite the songs are lip-synched and always entertaining. Dancers are very skilled and show off their moves on stage in this large theater. In addition to the great nightly shows – at 6, 7:30, and 9 p.m. – visitors get to enjoy Chinese and Japanese food at Aphrodite’s restaurants or drink at the brewery. Aphrodite is located on Bypass Road.
The Route Café and Music Bar has a relaxed feel and focuses on delivering good live music, generally jazz, rock, pop, and blues. There is a café band, but guests occasionally join in as well. This is a lounge-style bar and is perfect for having a nice drink and chatting with friends. The Route Café & Music Bar is located on Phang Nga Road and is open from 4 p.m. to midnight.
